Requirements

  • Familiarity with AI / ML driven screening technologies or data analytics platforms
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • 8+ years of sanctions compliance knowledge
  • Proven analytical, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Proven Commercial and Consumer Insurance knowledge or experience working in a diversified financial institution
  • Familiarity with sanctions screening systems (e.g. FinScan, Bridger Insight, Actimize, FircoSoft, Moody Analytics Orbis or similar)
  • Ability to resolve complex control conformance issues
  • Strong management policy, procedure and operational practice knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of risk & control assessment management
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Visio skills
  • Microsoft Suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enhance end-to-end sanctions screening solutions with regional and global responsibilities
  • Ensure screening is executed effectively and in compliance with AIG Global Economic Sanctions Policy, working with stakeholders (Compliance, Legal, Technology, Operations, Business Teams)
  • Drive continuous improvement of sanctions screening application and optimization of screening algorithms
  • Manage the Global Treasury Transformation for payments screening (country-by-country rollout)
  • Manage the Global Hub for Pre-Bind Screening Process with Technology and screening vendors
  • Work with Global Head of Sanctions Processing to manage Operational Transformation to Target Future State (multi-year global project)
  • Lead development of AIG Global Compliance Screening initiatives, assisting with development/evaluation/implementation of screening solutions for economic sanctions, AML, and anti-corruption for North America businesses and TSA divestitures
  • Support North America TPA Governance Team: review/assess 90 TPAs' sanctions processing, validate compliance, identify deficiencies, and implement mitigating controls
  • Oversee all operational aspects of screening processing for North America
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational compliance with Global Standard Operating Procedures
  • Validate SLAs for business partners and review Technology proposals to ensure sanctions screening requirements are met
  • Conduct reviews of IT proposals to ensure sanctions screening requirements as part of global IT governance
  • Manage Assurance Functions for Sanctions Processing in North America, ensuring effective controls (e.g., Reconciliation Process)
  • Serve as SME for sanctions processing in North America, understand business concerns, develop mitigating controls with Local Compliance Officers/Internal Audit
  • Build strong working relationships with North America Operations and Compliance Teams
