Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience, including software engineering leadership
  • Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams in global environments
  • Strong background in full-stack development, cross-platform development, cloud architecture (AWS preferred)
  • Demonstrated success leading platform modernization and automation initiatives
  • Skilled in agile methodologies and driving continuous improvement across engineering processes
  • Experience in technology-driven or clinical software environments preferred; exclude backgrounds primarily in banking, finance, or insurance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive organizational change

Responsibilities

  • Lead the modernization of Clario’s clinical trial software platform, advancing front-end and back-end systems built on .NET, AWS, and Java integrating with medical device endpoints and modern mobile applications
  • Define and execute R&D’s technical strategy in partnership with executive leadership to enhance speed, reliability, and scalability
  • Oversee multiple development teams (2 direct reports and ~40–50 indirect, including contractors) focused on platform transformation, automation, and QA maturity
  • Drive adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation practices to ensure quality, maintainability, and faster delivery
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Clinical Systems to align development efforts with customer and business priorities
  • Foster a high-performing engineering culture that values innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Provide strong architectural oversight, ensuring scalable and secure systems that meet Clario’s global operational needs
  • Mentor and develop technical leaders, ensuring continuous learning, skill development, and organizational alignment
  • Champion global cultural transformation—bridging experienced team members with new talent and promoting shared ownership of modernization initiatives
  • Participate in senior management discussions to shape corporate engineering strategy and ensure alignment with Clario’s long-term business goals
