In-depth understanding of the UK&I payments market, including opportunities, challenges, risks, parties, and business models
Strong commerciality, including understanding of commercial models within payments (revenues, costs, margins) and good knowledge of pricing within payments
Inspiring leadership skills, with ability to align and motivate a team from M&A backgrounds, nurture over-performance, and address under-performance confidently and motivationally
Good knowledge of payment solutions and products, emerging market solutions, competitors' offerings, and customer needs
Specific understanding of the UK&I ISV market (highly desirable)
Effective communication skills for business/performance updates, formal reports to senior leadership, and impactful presentations
Minimum of 10 years experience in sales or new business generation, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
Minimum of 5 years specifically within the payments industry
Responsibilities
Design and execute an acquisition strategy, structuring and organizing the team around it
Own the partner acquisition revenue and new business targets for UK&I, allocating targets proportionately across the team
Manage the performance of the acquisition team to ensure delivery of company objectives
Build and execute the ISV acquisition strategy for UK&I, aligned to focus verticals and company capabilities
Work closely with UK&I and international product teams to implement solutions enabling recruitment of key target ISVs
Maintain frameworks governing commercial proposals for winning new business, ensuring competitive positioning in the UK&I market while encouraging commercial creativity
Play a leading role in closing tier 1 opportunities, engaging directly in discovery, agreement, and execution
Build effective relationships across the broader partnership business ecosystem and UK&I commercial team
