Requirements

  • Works with Facility Manager, facility staff, and physicians to coordinate operations and patient procedures
  • Provides nursing support to patients and staff
  • Assists with staffing, staff training, equipment, physician and patient relations, cost containment, supply management, medical records, patient billing, OSHA, and compliance with company, state, and federal regulations
  • Accountable for quality of patient care as defined by organization quality goals
  • Complies with data collections, auditing, and maintains integrity of medical and operational records
  • Supervises and directs facility staff in vascular access procedures per policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Assigns and delegates tasks to direct patient care staff (Staff RNs, Radiology Technologists, Front Desk Coordinator)
  • Manages staff schedules, including breaks, to ensure adequate staffing
  • Assesses daily patient needs and develops/distributes care assignments
  • Monitors patient care staff for techniques and policy adherence
  • Recommends and initiates disciplinary action with Facility Manager
  • Assists with staff performance evaluations
  • Participates in staff selection, orientation, and training
  • Performs and sets up in-services on equipment, supplies, and clinical topics
  • Coordinates patient care from admission through discharge
  • Educates patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care
  • Schedules procedures timely and utilizes facility capacity efficiently
  • Assists with patient workflow, including direct patient care and monitoring pre-, intra-, and post-procedure
  • Oversees accurate and complete documentation of patient treatments
  • Confirms written orders, consents, and lab work per policies, including lab requisitions and results handling
  • Assumes primary responsibility in emergencies, maintains competency in emergency procedures, initiates CPR
  • Administers medications and IV conscious sedation per physician orders and regulations
  • Attends and participates in Governing Body and CQI meetings, assists with agendas and reporting
  • Ensures operation of facility equipment (patient monitors, defibrillators, etc.)
  • Maintains clean, safe, and sanitary facility environment through inspections

  • Works with Vice President of Quality to ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Addresses and acts on adverse events and action thresholds
  • Supervises safe and effective vascular access procedures
  • Ensures adequate staffing and appropriate patient care assignments
  • Routinely monitors and assists staff as necessary
  • Assists Facility Manager with performance evaluations
  • Performs staff in-services
  • Coordinates all aspects of patient care
  • Ensures patient education and efficient scheduling
  • Oversees documentation from admission to discharge
  • Manages lab work processes
