Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience growing a major gifts portfolio
  • Strategist who can think big picture and willing to roll up sleeves to do the work
  • Understands foundational principles of philanthropy; creative thinker and strong implementer
  • History of closing five (and ideally six)-figure gifts and meeting or exceeding increasing fundraising goals
  • Experience building relationships toward increased gifts (bonus if growing a donor base at a new organization)
  • Past fundraising experience with education-related causes
  • Work experience within a fast-growing organization (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Create and own a portfolio of major gift donors including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal with both traditional and nontraditional donors
  • Build out and run a mid-level giving program to create a stronger pipeline of donors
  • Serve as a face of Primer to donors and community members, building strategic relationships and representing Primer at key events
  • Manage stakeholder communications toward increased awareness and engagement leading to gift renewals and increased gifts
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Head of the Foundation to grow giving to the foundation
