Abhik, Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at Ashby, is seeking a talented engineer to join their team. This role offers the unique opportunity to combine design and development, tackling challenging design problems and contributing to a growing design system. Engineers at Ashby can design and build, similar to how Abhik initially approached software development. The role focuses on improving the productivity of talent teams through intelligent and powerful software, drawing inspiration from the functionality of spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a full-time frontend engineer or evenly split between frontend and design.
  • Design System Contributions: Significant contributions to (or leading) design systems.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Ability to collaborate naturally and communicate deliberately within a team.
  • Learning Mindset: A commitment to lifelong learning and a humble, kind approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Build: Redesign mobile web apps, wireframing new flows, implementing design systems, and bringing designs to life through code.
  • Design System Enhancement: Build flexible, composable components within the design system to empower other engineers.
  • Design System Consulting: Consult on bespoke design work and help others improve their designs.
  • Information Hierarchy Improvement: Assist in improving the information hierarchy and scannability of designs, particularly for assessing candidates.
  • Collaboration & Feedback: Participate in a collaborative environment with deliberate communication and focus time.
