Requirements

  • 3-5 years of working experience in demand planning, preferably in a manufacturing industry
  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Operations/Inventory Management or Supply Chain is preferred
  • CITT and/or APICS designation is an asset
  • Possess superior analytical, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Strong customer satisfaction focus and excellent relationship building skills
  • Use of MS Office, especially MS Excel at an intermediate to advanced level is required
  • Experience with JD Edwards and Netstock/forecasting software is an asset
  • Strong open and interactive communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to problem solve and “think outside the box.”
  • Experience with Power BI report development and maintenance is an asset
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Very good attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain monthly operational forecast down to SKU level at multiple locations
  • Incorporate business intelligence into the forecast (e.g., promotional programs, and events)
  • Successfully communicate monthly forecast accuracy and weekly shipment performance to management
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, finished goods stock level, and business strategies
  • Prepare and facilitate monthly consensus meetings with the Sales and planning teams to provide insight and analysis to improve the accuracy of the forecast
  • Complete the required presentations for review with senior management in the monthly planning process
  • Assist the Demand Planning Manager in the development of demand content for the monthly planning process as required
  • Work closely with customer supply chain, planning, and inventory management to report on forecast fill
  • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management
  • Document and execute process flows, rules, and standards relevant to demand planning
  • Assist the Demand Planning Manager in reviewing opportunities to reduce aged inventories and improve the MRB process
  • Support implementation of ERP and other new relevant software (e.g., JDE, Demand Works, Minitab, Power BI and others)
  • Provide ad hoc reporting for the supply chain as needed
  • Own, create, and maintain data resources (KPIs, Power BI, Balance Scorecard, S&OP, etc.) and drive improvements to bring insights to the logistics routine
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and dependability of data resources
  • Develop and execute on time sensitive ad hoc reporting
  • Support supply chain projects, especially those pertaining to data and systems
  • Develop and maintain routine reporting and analysis and identify ways to improve and automate
  • Evolve process as we create and purchase tools related to capacity and network planning
