Requirements

  • High Agile acumen with understanding and ability to apply Lean/Agile principles and frameworks, especially Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Solid Jira knowledge - able to manage Scrum and Kanban boards, query for needed data, interpret reports, and use data to drive team execution
  • Understanding of the product(s) delivered by assigned Agile teams and the value they bring to GreatAmerica, its customers, or end-users
  • Understanding of the work that needs to be done and technical processes for effective product delivery
  • Understanding of Agile metrics and how they apply to the team, using data to drive improvements
  • Ability to identify anti-patterns impeding organizational agility and address them with stakeholders, peers, or leaders
  • Situational and self-awareness to respond to environmental issues affecting team operations in a Lean-Agile manner
  • Capable of and willing to have difficult conversations, give and accept feedback
  • Exercises considerable independent judgement and decision making on somewhat complex to moderately complex issues

Responsibilities

  • Support up to two Scrum and Kanban teams
  • Improve capabilities of one or more Agile teams and drive implementation of products and integrations using Agile best practices
  • Support teams focused on moderate-to-high risk, complexity, or business value initiatives
  • Participate in Agile Release Train (ART) events such as ART Syncs, dependency planning and management, and PI Planning
  • Act as a servant leader, coaching teams and collaborating with Product Owners and peers
  • Drive outcomes, run key Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews/demos, sprint retrospectives), and protect the team by removing obstacles
  • Share best practices with peers
  • Ensure work delivered adheres to the Definition of Done
  • Make work visible and ensure impediments are removed at the team level
  • Facilitate effective team ceremonies and celebrate team wins
  • Coach team members on Agile values/principles (collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, transparency)
  • Ensure proper transparency and visibility into dependencies and risks; coach team on mitigation and management
  • Participate in PI Planning events and facilitate team activities during breakouts
  • Identify and resolve blockers affecting team delivery, escalating when necessary
  • Assess and progress Agile maturity at the team level; actively seek coaching from experienced SMs and coach others
  • Participate in Center of Excellence discussions; share learned best practices among Delivery Managers, Product Owners, and teams
  • Connect and drive collaboration between teams on the ART
  • Work daily with Product Team to ensure execution of the team's PI plan; collaborate with peers to manage dependencies
  • Hold teams accountable to maintaining focus on quality and continuous delivery of business value while generating artifacts to maintain cadence of multiple teams on the train; seek coaching and mentoring when needed
