Requirements
- Ability to slice, package, weigh, and sell deli products including meats and cheeses
- Knowledge of food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures
- Ability to operate and handle deli equipment in accordance with safety policies
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of deli equipment, surfaces, and areas
- Understanding of club policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- At least 18 years old for 401(k) eligibility (implied for certain benefits)
Responsibilities
- Provide high level of customer service: answer questions, recommend deli items, take special orders and calls, help select products, sample products
- Slice, package, weigh deli products (cheeses, meats); prepare and package special orders and party trays
- Receive, inspect, display, stock, rotate, and store deli shipments following policies
- Ensure products are fresh, meet quality standards; check for out-of-date products daily and follow salvage procedures
- Maintain wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and display cases; stock and rotate as necessary
- Operate deli equipment safely; clean and sanitize equipment, food surfaces, rotisserie ovens, utensils, refrigerated cases, and deli cooler
- Maintain presentation, cleanliness of deli display cases and department
- Ensure scale systems are managed (inferred from context)
- Greet, anticipate, appreciate members (GAA); deliver GOLD Member Standards and club standards daily
- Act with honesty, integrity; address/escalate member concerns; ensure safe, positive environment; embrace inclusion and diversity; work collaboratively as a team
