Requirements

  • Willing and able to stand approximately 8 hrs per day while hanging birds onto an overhead shackle line
  • Use two hands to grasp live chicken by the legs, taking care not to bruise the chicken or break any parts
  • Lift the chicken and turn it upside down with the breast facing away
  • Ability to hang at least 28 birds per minute that weigh approximately 5-10 pounds
  • Wear all required safety equipment
  • Work at a fast pace for the entire shift
  • Work flexible hours and some weekends as production requires
  • Work in a cold, hot, damp, and dusty environment
  • Observe all required hygiene & safety procedures at all times
  • Stand for the entire shift
  • Perform repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, & turning
  • Comply with all policies and rules
  • Work in a dim and ultraviolet fluorescent light
  • Work around a minimum amount of dust and/or ammonia from live birds
  • Perform other duties within the department as required
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
