Responsibilities

  • Lead with a safety mindset, champion safety procedures, processes, and training to maintain a safety-first culture
  • Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policies and procedures, problem resolution, and leading by example; discuss performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create improvement plans
  • Create a cohesive organization by keeping communication open and directing workforce for efficient workflow
  • Direct and supervise work and productivity of associates; drive engagement, retention, and culture embodying US Foods values
  • Participate in building teams by interviewing and hiring personnel with Sr. Warehouse Managers; review performance, coach on productivity and safety, and deliver disciplinary action
  • Lead associates to achieve accurate orders, stage and load trucks; oversee preparation for shipping or receiving
  • Monitor operational information like mis-picks and productivity reports; coach and counsel to correct behaviors and meet rates
  • Designate dock locations for inbound carriers; ensure product stocked per food safety and FIFO; monitor replenishment and oversee will call
  • Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment; prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions
  • Work with operations team to identify inventory shrink sources, develop action plans, analyze operations, and recommend improvements for expense and cost control
  • Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards, resolve or report them; maintain warehouse and equipment condition
  • Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed
  • Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools like Microsoft Excel
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
  • Supervise union and/or non-union warehouse associates (Loaders, Selectors, Receivers, Forklift drivers, etc.)
