Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps/automation roles (focus on databases is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with production PostgreSQL or Cassandra (clustering, replication, upgrades)
  • Solid Linux administration skills
  • Strong experience with automation/configuration management (Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm (experience running databases/operators on K8s is a plus)
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash; Go as a plus)
  • Experience with monitoring/logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Solid understanding of server and network fundamentals, including operating system concepts and core infrastructure components
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Fluent English and strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative, team-player with a commitment to succeed and never give up attitude
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration, upgrades and scaling of PostgreSQL and Cassandra using Ansible
  • Use and build CI/CD pipelines for database configuration changes
  • Enhance and optimize existing solutions for seamless large-scale data migrations between datacenters with no user impact, driving further automation and reliability
  • Support deployment, upgrades, and improvements in Kubernetes for both Acronis internal database tools and vendor-provided database images
  • Work closely with DevOps and Operations teams to ensure smooth integration of database automation into overall infrastructure processes
  • Document best practices for automated DB operations and train other engineers in their usage
