Candidates should have 3-6 years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles within SaaS/AI, startups, venture, or consulting, with a strong background in regression, categorical data analysis, experimental design, and survey development. Practical experience applying ML and/or LLMs for pattern recognition, predictive modeling, and business decision-making is required, along with proven business acumen in supporting Growth, Revenue, Sales, and product teams. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and DBT, along with experience in statistical modeling, A/B testing, data analysis, and cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake, is essential. Nice-to-haves include previous experience in PLG SaaS, hybrid or early-stage investments, and exposure to valuation, due diligence, or board-level reporting.
The Data Scientist will conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and trends, design, model, and deploy datasets for continuous analysis, and design and execute statistical experiments, A/B tests, and hypothesis testing. They will build predictive models using various statistical techniques, create comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate findings, and partner with business teams to translate questions into analytical frameworks. Responsibilities also include ensuring data quality through validation, cleaning, and preprocessing, providing recommendations based on statistical evidence, and monitoring and analyzing key business metrics to identify significant changes or trends.
