Requirements

  • Machine Learning & Deep Learning Expertise: In-depth understanding of common Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms.
  • Neural Network Design & Training: Experience designing, training, and analyzing neural networks for applications such as motion planning, object detection, sensor fusion, motion prediction, and multi-object tracking.
  • Problem Solving: Strong track record of tackling less well-defined problems and efficiently delivering successful outcomes.
  • Software Engineering: Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods.
  • Framework Proficiency: Experience with PyTorch or other Python-based deep learning frameworks.
  • Data Handling: Experience working with large datasets and deriving insights from data.
  • Collaboration: Experience mentoring and collaborating with others.

Responsibilities

  • Model Training & Evaluation: Directly responsible for training, evaluating, and deploying ML-based scene understanding, behavior prediction, and planning models.
  • Experiment Design: Designing and executing high-value experiments based on collaborative input from other machine learning engineers.
  • Metric Development: Prototyping and implementing continuously improving metrics to evaluate model performance across various scenarios and robotaxi capabilities.
  • Model Deployment: Timely release of major model updates, including analysis of off-line and on-road evaluation data.
  • Research & Innovation: Staying up-to-date with industry trends and proposing new architectures and network designs based on published literature.
  • Code Maintenance: Maintaining a high-quality training and evaluation code-base, including portions of the training stack dedicated to dataset generation and evaluation.

Education

  • Degree: Masters or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • Bonus: PhD in machine learning, computer vision, or robotics vision.

Bonus Points

  • Publications: Publications in relevant conferences (CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS, ICCV, ICL, etc.).
  • Autonomous Vehicle Experience: Experience working on autonomous vehicles or related fields.
