Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field, with 0-1 years of work experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and at least one programming language (Python or R) is required. Strong organizational skills for project management, effective communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and good command of English are essential. Knowledge of local Chinese (Mandarin) and a willingness to continuously learn are also necessary.
The Data Scientist will be responsible for sample design, universe estimation, and other design-related projects for the Retail Index. This includes identifying quality risks and implementing solutions, engaging with stakeholders on project scope and outcomes, and conducting expert-level analysis and presentations. The role involves teamwork in a virtual multi-country environment, utilizing dedicated software with ad hoc programming and data mining, identifying innovation opportunities, and analyzing processes for improvement recommendations.
