Requirements
Candidates should have experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of data principles, system and data architecture, and finance data experience is advantageous. Proficiency in software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, CI/CD methodologies, programming languages like Java, Python, or C++, and Git and AWS is required. Experience with distributed data stores such as S3, Hive, Trino, or Spark, transactional and analytical Python, and SQL, including dimensional modeling and data model design, is necessary. Experience developing orchestration/scheduling jobs, preferably with Airflow, and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Spark are also required.
Responsibilities
The Data Engineer will develop and maintain enterprise-grade ETL/ELT data pipelines, transforming raw data into scalable data models for consumption by analysts and scientists. They will design, build, and update foundational analytics data models, implement best practices for data quality including monitoring, alerting, and DQ frameworks, and develop, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot production-level DAGs using orchestration software like Airflow. Responsibilities also include developing automated solutions to reduce manual effort, reviewing and documenting code changes, orchestrating deployments, and adhering to change management and release management processes.
