Candidates should have experience acquiring structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from various sources including databases, blob storage, APIs, and event streams. Experience with SQL and/or Python data pipelines is required, with PySpark, SparkSQL, or Databricks being advantageous. A grasp of data modeling concepts in an enterprise, particularly Data Vault, is a bonus, as is an understanding of Cloud technologies like Azure. Experience with streaming analytics and excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment are also beneficial. The ability to deal with ambiguity, make sense of complex data landscapes, and bring diverse thought to problem-solving is expected.
The Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines using PySpark, SparkSQL, and Databricks to ingest, transform, and enrich data from various sources. They will translate business requirements into scalable and performant data engineering solutions, working closely with squad members and stakeholders. Responsibilities include handling data in multiple formats and latencies, collaborating cross-functionally to enable self-service analytics, and ensuring engineering solutions comply with architectural frameworks and best practices. The role also involves actively contributing to Agile ways of working, participating in ceremonies, retrospectives, and fostering team ownership and continuous delivery, while contributing to the Agile Community to build standards, practices, and principles into all work.
