Data Center Security Engineering Lead, Physical, Operations, & Logistics at OpenAI

The salary range is $175K - $415K.

The position is hybrid.

Candidates need 15+ years of experience in physical security, operations, and logistics for mission-critical infrastructure and data centers, a proven track record in implementing security systems for large-scale data centers, expertise in security risk analysis, stress testing, operational optimization, and strong understanding of physical security compliance codes and industry standards.

The team is central to building the world’s most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem, setting core infra strategy from site selection to buildout, and sits at the intersection of commercial, technical, strategy, and operations, interacting with teams and executives inside and outside of OpenAI.

A strong candidate is a strategic thinker with 15+ years in datacenter operations, physical security, risk analysis, and logistics, who thrives in highly complex, mission-critical environments and has experience collaborating across security, networking, power, cooling, supply chain, construction, and operations.
