Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, along with 5+ years of software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm, with a focus on data engineering. Significant hands-on experience in data engineering, including ETL development, data warehousing, and data lake management, is required, alongside proficiency in Python and SQL and comfort with cloud-based data stack tools. Familiarity with big data processing frameworks like Spark and Hadoop, and data integration technologies such as Airflow or DBT, is also necessary. Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance measures is a key qualification.
The Data & Analytics Engineer will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines and workflows to ensure high data quality and reliability, designing and managing a central data lake to consolidate data from various sources for advanced analytics and reporting, developing and maintaining dashboards and analytics tools for business and engineering teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to identify data gaps and develop solutions, implementing best practices in data security and governance, evaluating and integrating new technologies to optimize data processes, and continuously monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving data pipelines and infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency.
