Requirements

  • Two years of industrial repair and/or industrial distribution experience
  • Minimum 2-year degree in fluid power or formal training in industrial technology or related field
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Proficient with software programs relating to the customer service position including Trend, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, E-mail and vendor pricing programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify incremental selling opportunities from existing orders and communicate/work with outside sales to win new business

Responsibilities

  • Process orders, requests for price and delivery information, returns, order status, order expedites, and product literature accurately and consistently
  • Orchestrate internal resources (e.g., technical support, warehousing, finance, service and fabrication centers, purchasing) to meet customer needs
  • Process inbound customer calls regarding order status, pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules
  • Develop knowledge of assigned customers, including basic understanding of the buying process for OEM and MRO customer base
  • Demonstrate understanding of SunSource's customer procedures and tools to process orders, quotes, returns, navigate the pricing system, interpret pricing structure, and utilize internal support systems
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of SunSource technology and services offerings
