Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience preferred
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12:00am, 80 hours every 2 weeks, including rotating weekends/holidays (2nd shift/afternoon shift)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean/neat environment in assigned areas, including patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, stairwells, and lobby areas
  • Participate in cleaning activities such as cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows/glass, and replacing light bulbs
  • Maintain clean/neat floor surfaces through dusting, buffing, scrubbing, strip/sealing, waxing, extracting, and vacuuming
  • Properly dispose of trash, including pickup, boxing, shredding, recycling, regulated medical waste, and maintaining cleanliness of receptacles
  • Participate in relocation of office and general hospital furniture/equipment as necessary
  • Promote Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship
  • Coordinate workflow with team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment
