Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, engineering, logistics or product development

Responsibilities

  • Understand the Automotive, Software, IT industry and the long-term direction GM software is headed
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
  • Determine viable suppliers for technology requirements
  • Develop and manage supplier under the guidance of quality, service, technology, and price negotiations (including sound understanding of deadlines, required lead times, supplier contracts and application types)
  • Active participation with key stakeholders, including engineering, IT, business stakeholder, legal, and security
  • Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines
  • Adhere to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures
  • Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package
  • Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage Sourcing packages
  • Develop benchmarking for each sourcing package
  • Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
