Position Overview

Mixpanel is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Country Lead to spearhead our expansion in Japan. As the first on-the-ground representative, you will be instrumental in growing our business, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and elevating Mixpanel's presence in this key market. About the Team

The Sales team at Mixpanel guides prospects and existing customers through the entire sales cycle, ensuring they effectively leverage Mixpanel to analyze, measure, and enhance their customer experience.

About the Role

The Country Lead will join our APAC Sales teams and play a pivotal role in expanding Mixpanel's presence in Japan, a market with a significant customer base and increasing demand. You will be the first person on the ground in Japan, a crucial step in strengthening our commitment to customers and partners in the region and accelerating our growth.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will focus on growing Mixpanel's business within Japan:

  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and manage relationships with current customers to expand existing business opportunities.
  • Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with existing partners, including resellers, to drive demand for Mixpanel's products.
  • New Partnerships: Identify and establish new reseller partnerships to build business with Mixpanel.
  • Market Strategy: Contribute to the development of our marketing and messaging strategy tailored for the Japanese region.
  • Sales Execution: Prospect, progress, and close new business within the region.
  • Forecasting: Accurately forecast business performance in Japan.

  • Strong Network: Is well-connected within the Japan business and start-up community, ideally with a background in Analytics or SaaS solutions.
  • Evangelist Skills: Is comfortable giving presentations and product demos, and enjoys building a personal brand while actively contributing to the local community as an evangelist for Mixpanel.
  • Leadership Qualities: Is a credible, energetic leader eager to build the Mixpanel business in Japan, supported by the global Mixpanel organization.
  • Sales Acumen: Is comfortable carrying a quota and has prior direct sales experience.

While initial support will be provided remotely, it will be essential for you to build a local delivery support structure through the partner ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in direct enterprise sales with a proven track record of closing new business.
  • Japan Market Expertise: Proven expertise in prospecting, executive mapping, and winning new logos specifically within the Japanese market.
  • Account Management: Experience managing and exceeding targets for large enterprise accounts.
  • Industry Background: Strong background in Product Management, Analytics, or SaaS.
  • Cultural Understanding: Deep understanding of the Japanese market and business culture.
  • Sales Strategy: Ability to develop and execute multichannel sales strategies.
  • Sales Cycle Experience: Experience in both account management and new business sales.
  • Technical Aptitude: Technically adept, with the ability to deliver product demonstrations to partners and customers.
  • Executive Engagement: Comfortable engaging with C-level executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Deal Closure: Consistent success in closing six-figure deals.
  • Strategic Planning: Skilled in building and executing account, territory, and go-to-market strategies.
