Requirements
Candidates must possess a J.D. or equivalent, along with at least three years of experience as a transactional attorney at a top law firm. They should demonstrate a strong ability to deliver high-quality work product under tight deadlines, exceptional technical aptitude, and comfort with learning cutting-edge systems. A proven interest in prompt engineering and leveraging large language models (LLMs) for legal work is also required, alongside the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and translate complex problems.
Responsibilities
The Counsel, Applied Legal Research will develop subject-matter expertise to support AI research in transactional law, prompt engineer and fine-tune large language models for legal applications, build proprietary benchmarks to evaluate model performance, tackle unsolved AI problems in document analysis and legal reasoning, and contribute to improving the data extraction capabilities of the Deal Intelligence platform. They will also work closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to advance the platform and communicate effectively with various internal stakeholders.
