Requirements

  • Experience in requirements analysis and alignment to business and technical outcomes for the design and integration of next generation firewall, guard, and cross domain solutions
  • Ability to interpret functional and non-functional requirements and performance specifications for complex operational needs
  • Knowledge of NATO standards for Federated Mission Networking (FMN), including STANAGs for interoperability and data-centric security
  • Familiarity with Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) security controls and organization policy
  • Experience with agile delivery environments, including managing product backlogs and user stories
  • Knowledge of designated security technologies such as Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Isode m-Guard cross-domain guard solutions

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, operational users, and subject matter experts to interpret, analyse, and validate detailed functional and non-functional requirements for Gateways and Guard solutions comprising next generation firewalls and cross domain guards
  • Create, manage, and refine the product backlog and user stories in an agile delivery environment, ensuring stories are clearly defined, estimated, and "ready" for development sprints
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies related to requirements, including story mapping, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring continuous feedback loops with stakeholders
  • Work alongside the Solution Architect to ensure requirements align with the overall architectural vision, technical constraints, and designated security technologies
  • Conduct thorough gap analyses between current system capabilities and required FMN interoperability standards (NATO STANAGs), identifying necessary changes to processes, systems, and policy configurations
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including requirement specifications, process flows, and technical specifications as needed, supplementing agile documentation practices
  • Ensure all requirements incorporate data-centric security principles, clearly defining rules for data classification, access control, message filtering (e.g., XML schema validation), and secure data transfer across security domains
  • Support the development and execution of test plans (User Acceptance Testing - UAT), ensuring implemented solutions meet the defined requirements
