Requirements

  • 6+ years’ hands-on experience working within Foxboro and Mark VI controls systems, ideally within a power generation or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Mark VI and Foxboro hardware and software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 5-7 years of power generation plant experience
  • Experience in Maximo for planning work, creating purchase requests, and creating job plans (preferred)
  • Experience with operations and maintenance at a power plant particularly control operator experience on a unit with a drum boiler (preferred)
  • Power generation plant supervision, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills (preferred)
  • Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be willing to relocate to within 50 miles of the plant site

Responsibilities

  • Provides controls expertise to assist with operations, maintenance, and repair of the plant
  • Oversee troubleshooting, calibration, configuration and installation of Mark VI and Foxboro controls systems
  • Identify and resolve system issues related to hardware, software, and control loops to minimize downtime
  • Provides supervision and direction to power plant electricians, instrument and controls technicians, and P&C personnel
  • Responsible for controls, instrumentation, and electronic project implementation and development, including long range planning and development of Capital projects
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling all work within the technical department, including daily maintenance activities and outage activities for electricians and instrumentation technicians
  • Must be able to utilize Maximo to order materials and plan Work Orders for their group
  • Will be assigned to work a normal day shift schedule but will be on call and expect to cover the plant on a 7-day, 24-hour basis
  • Assist all areas of the plant when the need arises, including but not limited to the operations department as well as the mechanical department
  • Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation
  • Interface frequently with outside vendors and contractors
