Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience working with/on PLC’s, HMI’s, Servos, VFD’s, electrical, hydraulics, controls, and pneumatics
  • Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent experience as an Industrial Electrician
  • Understanding of PLC code, Schematic wiring, One-line, and P&ID process diagrams
  • Experience with AB PLCs, “Studio 5000”, HMI, VFD’s, Servo, Sensors, Instrumentation, and industrial control systems
  • Knowledge of and application of electrical standards, including National Electrical Code and UL508a
  • Understanding of safe electrical work practices including LOTO and Arc Flash safety - NFPA 70e
  • Knowledge of Industrial Ethernet Networks and network communication standards
  • Skilled in use of electrical test equipment including voltmeters, amp meters, process meters, network analyzers and other testing devices
  • Understanding of calibration procedures for process instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, level, and composition) and process controls

Responsibilities

  • Providing effective automation and controls support to plant operations
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing problems in all areas of Electrical, Automation, Networks, Process, Instrumentation and Controls Systems
  • Performing preventive maintenance and calibration of plant controls systems and instrumentation
  • Supporting troubleshooting, development of process/system improvements, preventive and predictive maintenance development, and contractor performance monitoring
  • Maintaining documentation of all operational activities for future reference
