Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 + Benefits Location Type: London OR Remote (UK) Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone by simplifying traditional banking. Monzo has grown significantly over the last 10 years in the UK, expanding from a prepaid card to offering personal and business bank accounts, joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account, and credit cards. Our UK customers can also save, invest, and combine their pensions with us. Known for our hot coral cards, get-paid-early feature, financial education on social media, and award-winning customer service, we aim to create magical moments for our customers. We focus on solving problems and changing lives through Monzo.

About the Role

We are hiring a Content Strategist to join the Content team at Monzo. This role requires devising holistic, cross-channel content strategies, with experience in defining content approaches for web, app, and other communication channels like email.

Content plays a critical role in our mission to help people untangle their financial lives by creating meaningful content across the right touchpoints. This involves finding innovative and expressive ways to connect our products with real-life use cases and identifying the optimal distribution channels.

A significant part of this role will involve defining how content can be used to successfully launch new products and features to both new audiences and in new markets. There will also be a focus on using content to deepen product attachment with existing customers and build brand salience and advocacy.

Working closely with the Web Content Strategist, Content Editorial Lead, and Integrated Marketing Managers, you will be responsible for delivering product-specific content strategies implementable primarily on the web, with the opportunity to adapt them across other core channels. You will consider the brand's overarching content strategy and broader objectives, tailoring your output to specific product goals and audience needs.

Examples of your work could include:

  • Collaborating with the Investments team to build an education series around specific funds or risk appetites.
  • Advising on a video content series to build active demand for our under 16s account.
  • Driving the strategy for new market launches, defining website content including product/feature pages, information architecture, and longer-form editorial pieces.

Responsibilities

Your role will involve:

  • Defining Content Strategy: Determine how content should be used to drive business and customer objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define clear content objectives, focusing on driving awareness, demand, consideration, and adoption through well-researched strategies and distribution channels.
  • Overseeing Execution: Collaborate closely with the Content and Editorial Lead, Product squads, and Writers to turn strategies into creative series that achieve goals.
  • Supporting Product Marketing: Assist Product Marketing Managers in implementing content into their go-to-market and growth campaigns.

While the role is content-focused, a strong understanding of web content strategy and its application in driving results for product launches and brand campaigns is essential.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in devising holistic, cross-channel content strategies.
  • Experience defining content approaches for web, app, and other communication channels (e.g., email).
  • Strong understanding of web content strategy and its role in driving results for product launches and brand campaigns.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Product Marketing Managers, Product squads, and Writers.
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
