Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a construction-related field, such as an associate degree in construction, trade school certification, or equivalent certification, or 10 years of experience in a similar inspection role to waive school requirements. OSHA 30 and USACE QCM certifications are required, and government or military project experience is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred but not required, and a High School diploma or equivalent is required. Experience with E-Builder Construction Management software is also preferred.

Responsibilities

The Construction Inspector will review blueprints, monitor construction progress, examine interior and exterior work, and utilize survey instruments to verify completed work, taking photographs and maintaining a log. They will inspect work at the site(s) for contract and code compliance, proficiently utilizing construction management software like E-Builder, recommend approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship, monitor labor and safety requirements, complete written inspection reports, and maintain records of defects and omissions. The inspector will also be responsible for quality assurance of the overall project, evaluating workmanship and inspecting work per construction documents, establishing inspection requirements, schedules, and controls methods under a QC procedure, reporting labor standards, interviewing for compliance with Davis-Bacon Act findings, monitoring construction activities, informing the COTR/CM on project progress, providing site photos, and preparing information for AOC’s photo management software.
