Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Configuration Manager or in a similar role is required, preferably within a research or governmental organization. Strong knowledge of configuration management principles, practices, and tools is essential, along with proficiency in using Azure DevOps for configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and reporting. Knowledge of Scrum Agile development methodology, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong organizational and project management abilities, and effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide training to staff is also required. Preferred qualifications include certification in Configuration Management (e.g., ITIL, PMP, or similar) and experience with other configuration management tools and technologies.
The Configuration Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive configuration management plan. They will establish and maintain a centralized repository for storing configuration items and utilize Azure DevOps to track, manage, and automate changes to hardware, software, and documentation. Additionally, they will implement a rigorous change control process to evaluate, approve, and implement modifications, monitor and audit configurations continuously to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and generate detailed reports and analytics to provide insights into configuration trends and identify potential issues. The role also involves providing training and support to staff on configuration management best practices and effective use of Azure DevOps while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
