Requirements

5 years of experience in level design for games, ensuring expertise in creating immersive environments
Experience delivering at least two games in a level design role, demonstrating a track record of successful projects
Familiarity with single-player games, particularly narrative titles
Strong understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and environmental storytelling to create engaging and historically accurate levels
Strong collaboration skills, emphasizing egoless teamwork to integrate feedback and ideas
Proactive attitude towards growth, learning, and improvement, aligned with the studio's innovative culture
In-depth understanding of Agile frameworks for rapid iteration on ideas and/or prototypes
Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine and Blueprint scripting skills
Understanding of Chinese language is appreciated but optional

Responsibilities

Plan level design using 2D maps, diagrams, and written documents to define structure and flow
Design and build game levels, including layout, pacing, and difficulty curve, to create an immersive experience
Design high-quality levels that enhance the player experience, focusing on cinematics and narrative gameplay
Script events and interactions to improve gameplay, such as enemy encounters or narrative moments
Collaborate with art, programming, and design teams to ensure a cohesive game experience, aligning with the game's historical and cultural context
Communicate design intentions through discussions, reviews, and level production meetings to align with the game vision
Establish standards, conventions, and metrics to ensure level quality and consistency
Train and mentor staff on level design techniques, tools, and best practices to foster team development
