We are seeking a versatile and experienced Technical Art Generalist to join our creative team supporting Pudgy Party, a mobile party game set in the beloved Pudgy Penguins™ universe. This individual contributor role reports to the Technical Art Director and is crucial for driving high-quality content and performant pipelines during the game's Live Operations phase.

You will apply your broad technical art expertise across 3D pipelines, VFX, rigging, UI systems, and shader optimization to enhance game quality, improve production workflows, and support new content creation. We are looking for a well-rounded Technical Artist who thrives on solving creative and technical challenges, building practical tools, and making a significant impact on both the development process and player experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to implement and support real-time art assets across a wide range of systems, including 3D models, shaders, animation, VFX, and UI.
• Own and improve Unity-based pipelines for content integration, ensuring assets are performant and optimized for mobile devices.
• Develop scripts and tools to streamline asset implementation and enhance workflows for the broader art team.
• Support and troubleshoot issues related to rigging, animation, and VFX.
• Identify and address performance challenges related to materials, shaders, and rendering across various mobile devices.
• Provide technical guidance to artists and collaborate on evolving best practices for art production in a live game environment.
• Actively contribute to the long-term health and scalability of the game's art systems during Live Ops and seasonal content updates.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in mobile game development.
• Deep expertise with the Unity game engine, including asset pipelines, prefab workflows, animation controllers, and particle systems.
• Strong technical proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, C#) and experience developing internal tools or automation scripts.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of technical art disciplines: 3D asset integration, rigging/animation systems, shader/material optimization, and UI implementation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Strong understanding of performance considerations and platform limitations for mobile games.
• Clear, concise communicator with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and advocate for technical solutions that improve product quality and team efficiency.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with custom tool development for DCC or game engines.
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git, Perforce).
• Comfort working in fast-paced Live Ops environments with frequent content updates.
• Prior experience with stylized or casual game aesthetics.
• Awareness or interest in digital ownership, NFTs, or blockchain-integrated game systems.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is based on the location where the employee’s work will be performed and is aligned to one of our three compensation pay range tiers. Base pay is just one part of Mythical’s total compensation package, which is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their efforts and contributions.
