Requirements

Candidates should possess 10+ years of total experience and at least 5 years in a compliance management role, such as a BSA or Compliance Officer. Subject matter expertise in domestic or cross-border payments, blockchain or cryptocurrency, stablecoin payment infrastructure, or customer identification for a regulated entity is essential, along with an understanding of the functional and technical design of blockchain, bitcoin, and ideally the Lightning Network. Prior experience with payment systems, US and international payment rails, and compliance obligations around payments and customer onboarding is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills, are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Compliance Program Manager will own and manage the business and consumer KYC/CDD program, including execution and hiring of additional staff for customer due diligence reviews. They will also develop the initial set of rules for transaction monitoring, define a formal manual review and investigations process, perform counterparty due diligence reviews, and develop a customer risk rating model for retail and business customers. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the configuration of third-party fraud vendor front ends and detective monitoring alerts, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise, and identifying potential risks with proposed solutions. Regular travel to Los Angeles is required to collaborate with the team and stakeholders.
