Curiosity to dive deep into emerging crypto protocols, including specs, code, and edge cases, is essential. Strong judgment on prioritizing security matters and a bias for shipping secure systems are also required. Experience with languages like Go, Rust, and Typescript, and protocols such as Substrate and Tendermint, is beneficial.
The Cryptocurrency Security Engineer will be responsible for securing the edge of crypto infrastructure and systems by leading, reviewing, and implementing security improvements across the entire stack. This includes designing cold storage, building airgapped systems across cloud and hardware, and developing high-signal detections for on- and off-chain threats. Responsibilities also involve designing secure wallet architectures, hardening systems from the ground up, building and automating threat detections, simulating threats, driving response plans, and assessing security from code to cloud, including reviewing internal systems and open-source dependencies.
