Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development & Family Studies, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling
OR Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree from an approved institution
OR Four years of qualifying work experience in a related human services field (e.g., case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation) or a combination of education and experience equaling four years
OR Qualified Addictions Professional (QAP) certification (e.g., CADC, CRADC, RAADC, CADC, JPRADC, PRADC, RADCC, CDPC, CDP-D)

Responsibilities

Provide support and activities to clients through an organized treatment plan designed to ease an individual's immediate and continued adjustment to community living, working in the community including clients' homes, clinics, and other places
Utilize a supportive, educational approach to promote improved functioning to meet client needs, treatment goals, while encouraging recovery and increased resiliency
Provide and/or coordinate comprehensive follow-up to all responsible clients, including follow-up for missed appointments, and conducting outreach and engagement as needed
Use advanced knowledge of psychological concepts, evidence-based interventions, and coordinate delivery of mental health services with other practitioners and community partners
Apply specialized knowledge of behavioral science principles such as motivational interviewing, reinforcement, operant conditioning, social norming, attitude change, persuasion, hierarchy of needs, interpersonal and group dynamics, cognitive processing, attentional processes, personality, and empirically supported behavioral intervention strategies
