Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in community development, community outreach, community health, and/or community education
  • Must reside in Western Kentucky
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm Central Standard Time, while also maintaining ability to work evenings and weekends semi-regularly
  • Must possess reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel up to 90% of the time within Kentucky, mostly in the western region (mileage reimbursed per company policy)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Develop, facilitate, and implement outreach activities, special events, programs, and presentations supporting member education and health plan awareness, specifically within the Medicaid or Medicare population and the community
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community contacts
  • Maintain marketing guideline compliance with the appropriate state’s laws and regulations
  • Seek out and secure event sponsorship
  • Oversee event logistics including reserving space, catering, communication, distributing materials, facilities support, and other similar activities
  • Monitor and/or participate in the preparation and tear down for the event
  • Manage on-site event staffing and handle any problems and/or emergencies that may arise
  • Act as contact for all sponsors and event providers
  • Assure proper documentation for membership and leader-driven activities and events
  • Give individual or group presentations to potential sponsors and members
  • May conduct new member orientations and lead-generating events and activities
  • Provide recommendations and status updates to the department management team as required
  • Produce and maintain a community events calendar to assist the department with community and member awareness
  • Perform other duties as required
