Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of capital markets experience with a brokerage, investment bank, or principal, along with a proven track record of originating, underwriting, and structuring relevant commercial real estate debt and equity. Superior written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as a collaborative personal/professional style that advances a collegial partnered approach to meeting corporate objectives. The ability to effectively represent customers and business partners is also necessary, alongside high personal values, exceptional judgment, and discretion.
The Commercial Real Estate Originator will be responsible for originating, structuring, and closing commercial real estate financing transactions, utilizing credit skills to identify strengths and weaknesses and create structural features to mitigate risks. They will partner with IPA and Marcus & Millichap investment sales agents to pitch business and secure staple financing opportunities, prescreening and qualifying transactions, reviewing offering memoranda, and preparing underwriting presentations. The role also involves working closely with capital sources to secure favorable transactions, developing and maintaining strong relationships with developers, owners, and other third-party origination sources, expanding relationships with key market leaders, and traveling as appropriate to cement the Company as the real estate service provider of choice.
