About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is not a typical in-house role. We are looking for a business-minded attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will be a key player in the Company’s success, working to support our rapid growth. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who can skillfully balance legal risk with business objectives and move at the speed of the business. If you are a self-starter who enjoys finding innovative solutions to complex problems, we want to talk to you. This is a fully remote role with options to work onsite (we have offices in Palo Alto, New York, and Toronto).

Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including partnership, technology, marketing, and vendor contracts, ensuring they align with the Company’s goals and risk tolerance.
• Risk Assessment: Rapidly identify and analyze legal and business risks in contracts and propose creative, practical solutions to get deals done.
• Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to internal business clients, translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice for non-lawyers.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with business, product, and marketing teams, demonstrating an ability to collaborate effectively.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement improvements to our contracting processes and templates to increase efficiency and scalability.
• High-Volume Workload Management: Manage a high volume of contracts and legal requests in a demanding and fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Academic Excellence: Excellent Academic Credentials from an academically-rigorous program at a top school.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen ability to identify critical issues and filter out noise.
• Efficiency: The ability to work fast and effectively manage a high-volume workload without sacrificing quality.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to distill complex legal issues into simple, direct advice for a business audience.
• Teamwork & Resilience: A highly collaborative and resilient team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ownership & Autonomy: A strong sense of ownership, with the ability to work autonomously and drive projects to completion.
