Requirements

  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview
  • Preferred: Previous agricultural or production experience
  • Must be willing to shower, change clothing and footwear before entering the biosecure facility (company provides appropriate clothing and footwear)
  • No jewelry except medical ID jewelry; body piercings must be covered by appropriate clothing
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Able to lift/move 50 lbs. and push/pull 1000-1500 lbs. (on wheels)
  • Able to stand majority of shift on concrete floor; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus
  • Willing to work on wet, slippery surfaces, and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments
  • Willing to use required Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rubber boots when handling chemicals; ear plugs as needed)
  • Expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures (e.g., Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock Out Tag Out, Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Float to all departments within the Hatchery on an as-needed basis (e.g., Egg Room, Embrex, Chick Processing, Sanitation, Pull Crew, Biosecurity/Animal Welfare)
  • Fill in departments as needed based on production needs; duties may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice on a daily basis
  • Work three days a week (varying days including Monday-Friday, holidays, some Saturdays & Sundays) with a maximum of 30 hours per week; varied hours depending on department need; work days scheduled on Thursdays when weekly schedule is posted
