Able to perform physical demands: regularly lift flats of eggs up to 12 pounds, weigh hens/roosters (12-16 pounds), pull/push crates up to 60 pounds; stand majority of shift on concrete floor; walk; sit; use hands; reach; balance; stoop; talk/hear; specific vision abilities (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Use safe lifting techniques

Responsibilities

Collect eggs, place in plastic flat, mark appropriately per line identification standards, and properly calculate and record number of eggs laid per flock (50%)
Provide daily care of flock: calculate and record pounds per pen using calculator, weigh feed using hopper scale and distribute into hoppers by carrying buckets, weigh 60 females/30 males weekly using digital scales for average flock weight, collect weekly lab samples (boot swabs for environment, cleft pallet swabs for birds), monitor flock for injury/illness and report to lead/manager, collect/record/dispose of flock mortality (30%)
Maintain flock environment: flush water lines weekly by turning flush valve, maintain pen bedding and nests to animal welfare standards, use handheld electric blower to clear dust from equipment (fans, inlets, etc.) once a week (10%)
Other duties as assigned: operate high pressure/regular water hose, maintain foot pans and hand sanitizer, maintain vehicle (check fluid levels, filters, tire pressure, clean/disinfect), maintain clean and organized work area (10%)
