Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of coating experience
  • Experience with forklifts and other departmental equipment, machines, hand tools, and power tools needed for assembly
  • Experience with coating equipment, preferably gas turbine equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of gas turbines

Responsibilities

  • Have knowledge of coating operations, coating equipment, fixtures, and parameters for the coating process for various gas turbine components
  • Have the ability to prepare, mask, and grit blast components to the appropriate surface finish
  • Have the ability to coat parts both via plasma and HVOF processes with various powders and properly collect all required samples
  • Have the ability to run robotic programs and controls as required and program from scratch
  • Having equipment knowledge to properly maintain the coating booth in top operating condition and possess good troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve any issues
  • Working closely with engineers, repair technicians, and machinists to apply the appropriate amount of coating to meet all requirements
  • Operating forklifts, cranes, and other material-moving equipment
  • Have the ability to perform various other assembly and repair duties in a turbine repair shop when the coating cell is not in use
