Job Description

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, dedicated to protecting people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission has been to stop breaches, and we have redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We operate on large-scale distributed systems, processing nearly 3 trillion events per day, with this traffic growing daily. Our diverse customer base spans all industries, relying on CrowdStrike to maintain business operations, ensure community safety, and facilitate progress. We are a mission-driven company that fosters a culture of flexibility and autonomy, empowering every CrowdStriker to own their careers. We are seeking talented individuals with boundless passion, a relentless focus on innovation, and a fanatical commitment to our customers, community, and each other. Join us in shaping the future of cybersecurity.

About the Role

The Exposure Management team is advancing CrowdStrike's mission of "stopping breaches" by providing unparalleled sophistication and visibility. This involves ingesting massive amounts of risk data and applying various techniques, including Machine Learning, to offer new levels of insight into attack paths and posture scores across hosts and cloud assets/workloads.

In this role, you will leverage the latest technologies to build backend services responsible for data ingestion, calculations, and the provision of remediation tooling and automation. The team primarily uses GoLang for building microservices and utilizes various database systems. We are a highly collaborative and friendly group that values collaboration over competition. We offer opportunities for skill development, mentorship, and contribution to the direction of our team and products. Our environment is distributed, remote-first, and high-trust, allowing you to manage your own time and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will take full ownership of product delivery, drive technical aspects, contribute to architecture definition, and coordinate with stakeholders on scope and priorities. As a remote employee, communication primarily occurs via Slack and Zoom. Therefore, the ability to work unsupervised, communicate asynchronously, and proactively maintain communication lines is crucial.

What You'll Do

  • Develop back-end services hosting both private and public-facing web services.
  • Develop public-facing command-line shell utilities, some of which interact with your web services.
  • Design supporting infrastructure, including databases and real-time data streams.
  • Provide integration support and documentation for complementary teams (e.g., UX/UI, Sensors).
  • Participate in configuring and responding to uptime alerts for the services you manage.
  • Thoughtfully reflect on and improve architecture, models, user experience, performance, and stability, following rapid prototyping and fast-paced decision-making.
  • Brainstorm and refine how customers utilize and apply the vast amounts of data we collect to automate cyber threat intelligence at a global scale.
  • Maintain healthy operational status for services.

What You'll Need

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience programming in at least one object-oriented programming language with strong typing. (We use Golang and Python; learning on the job is supported).
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful API web services.
  • Experience interacting with major cloud provider APIs (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud (GCP)) to provision and monitor cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience using message queues.
