Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 3+ years of production-level experience in building, delivering, and maintaining systems at scale. Strong programming skills are required in Golang, Python, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or similar. Expertise is needed in distributed systems, micro-service architectures, multi-region architectures, software development best practices, observability, and reliability engineering. Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and caching technologies such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis is essential. Expertise in scalability concepts like queues, concurrency, sharding, and partitioning is also required. A thorough understanding of engineering best practices, including appropriate testing paradigms, effective peer code reviews, and resilient architecture, is necessary. The ability to debug complex issues at every level of the stack and to work both independently and collaboratively is crucial. A BS in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience, is strongly preferred. Bonus points include existing exposure to Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, and prior experience in cybersecurity or intelligence fields.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Software Engineer II will write secure and maintainable code to power CrowdStrike's flagship products. They will be part of a global team building and maintaining cloud services, collaborating with other teams to brainstorm, research, and build solutions aligned with the product roadmap. Responsibilities include building, maintaining, and improving backend microservices written in Go and Python, and launching and supporting features used by millions of users. The engineer will understand business and engineering requirements to proactively share ideas and solutions, maintain a strong focus on customer needs, and ensure code quality through best practices, testing, logging, and metrics.
