Manager of Cloud Security

Position Overview
PIMCO's Information and Cybersecurity Organization is seeking a Manager of Cloud Security with a deep understanding of cloud security methodologies applicable to AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and deliver to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will assume end-to-end ownership of the cloud security program, drive risk-focused discussions with senior management and stakeholders, and provide technical oversight to other PIMCO Cloud Team Members. This position reports directly to the Global Information Security Officer.
The role is focused on automation, process, and the necessary tools to support service enablement and security management for PIMCO’s cloud environments. Qualified candidates will be comfortable applying Security-as-Code principles to enhance the security of the product suite and provide training, mentoring, and best practices to teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related qualification or experience.
- CI/CD experience with deployment pipelines (e.g., Terraform, GitLab, CHEF).
- Working knowledge of vulnerability/compliance, patch management, anti-malware, and access control management toolsets.
- Excellent understanding of cloud security solutions and cloud-based architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Experience with LAMBDA functions.
- Experience with application/system/infrastructure security monitoring and applicable toolsets.
- Knowledge of the current threat landscape, specifically related to Cloud environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of secure engineering principles, privacy (DPA / GDPR), and compliance laws and standards (OWASP, ISO, CIS, ISF, NIST), Cloud Security Alliance.
