Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and a minimum of six years of experience as a Platforms Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer utilizing the AWS platform. AWS certification for Advanced Networking - Specialty is preferred. Strong system design skills and experience with rate limiting implementations, traffic control systems, programming & scripting, authentication & security (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Keycloak), cloud & infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS services, DevOps & tools (Git, Concourse CI, Terraform), and development practices (test-driven development, continuous integration/deployment, code review processes, performance optimization, technical writing, GitOps workflows) are required.
The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will design and implement cloud network architectures primarily in AWS, including VPCs, subnets, routing, and Transit Gateways. They will also manage core AWS networking services like Route 53, Direct Connect, and VPNs, optimize network performance, ensure multi-tenant isolation, identify network security requirements, and develop standard operating procedures. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform, implementing GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines, automating operational tasks, designing monitoring solutions using Prometheus and DataDog, creating alerting systems, leading troubleshooting of complex platform issues, participating in on-call rotation, maintaining operational documentation, and potentially traveling internationally.
