Senior Cloud Engineer (Contract)

Candidates should possess 5+ years of relevant software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems, and experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. They should also have experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes, and experience developing cloud native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate knowledge of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, such as VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers, and understanding of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.
The Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineer will be responsible for architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure, building a cutting-edge cloud-native platform on top of the public cloud, and automating our cloud resource management. They will also work closely with the ClickHouse core database development team and security team, and partner with them to produce the SAS offering, working on routing and traffic components to improve the reliability and scalability of our cloud service, systematically improving availability by applying industry and distributed systems best practices, and designing and building security components & tooling: firewall, PKI and certificate infra, zero trust network, etc. Finally, they will improve performance and cost efficiency of the infrastructure.
