Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the role (e.g., in clinical operations, team management)

Responsibilities

Oversee daily line management of assigned team, including management, selection, training, resourcing, coaching, and performance management of staff (e.g., CAS, CS, CRAs, CTCs, or other clinical operations staff)
Focus on end results using metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to manage performance
Lead or contribute to initiatives that enhance department performance or lead to process improvements across the company
Collaborate with clinical operations senior management and executive staff on strategic planning and business development as required
Act as point-of-escalation for performance concerns and training needs to ensure adherence to company SOPs and WPDs
Work with the leadership team for resourcing needs
Manage and conduct induction/orientation programs for new employees
Ensure all staff CVs, training records, position profiles, and experience profiles are complete and up-to-date
Support allocation activities per the local resourcing process
Support activities of project leads/functional leads to optimize project operations
Escalate issues that may impact project deliverables
Deliver training on WPDs, SOPs, local requirements, and other clinical operations subjects; identify training gaps and ensure requirements are met
Contribute to development of training programs where appropriate
Participate in process improvement/development initiatives
Ensure understanding and facilitation of the risk-based monitoring approach
Alert management to quality issues, request QA audits as appropriate, and support direct reports/project team in audit responses
Manage and review systems (e.g., CTMS, Preclarus, Clarity) to evaluate employee/project metrics, KPIs, and status
Evaluate staff work, including conducting PAVs (remote or on-site) to assess monitoring skills and project conduction
Manage staff processes, including interviewing/selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching/mentoring, employee counseling, separations, salary administration, hiring, corrective action, terminations, time records, expense reports, leave requests, and overtime
