Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the role (e.g., in clinical operations, team management)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily line management of assigned team, including management, selection, training, resourcing, coaching, and performance management of staff (e.g., CAS, CS, CRAs, CTCs, or other clinical operations staff)
  • Focus on end results using metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to manage performance
  • Lead or contribute to initiatives that enhance department performance or lead to process improvements across the company
  • Collaborate with clinical operations senior management and executive staff on strategic planning and business development as required
  • Act as point-of-escalation for performance concerns and training needs to ensure adherence to company SOPs and WPDs
  • Work with the leadership team for resourcing needs
  • Manage and conduct induction/orientation programs for new employees
  • Ensure all staff CVs, training records, position profiles, and experience profiles are complete and up-to-date
  • Support allocation activities per the local resourcing process
  • Support activities of project leads/functional leads to optimize project operations
  • Escalate issues that may impact project deliverables
  • Deliver training on WPDs, SOPs, local requirements, and other clinical operations subjects; identify training gaps and ensure requirements are met
  • Contribute to development of training programs where appropriate
  • Participate in process improvement/development initiatives
  • Ensure understanding and facilitation of the risk-based monitoring approach
  • Alert management to quality issues, request QA audits as appropriate, and support direct reports/project team in audit responses
  • Manage and review systems (e.g., CTMS, Preclarus, Clarity) to evaluate employee/project metrics, KPIs, and status
  • Evaluate staff work, including conducting PAVs (remote or on-site) to assess monitoring skills and project conduction
  • Manage staff processes, including interviewing/selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching/mentoring, employee counseling, separations, salary administration, hiring, corrective action, terminations, time records, expense reports, leave requests, and overtime
