Requirements

Candidates must possess extensive Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) experience, including Illumina instrument setup and execution, DNA/RNA library construction from various sample types, and familiarity with probe design pipelines and bioinformatics data analysis. A Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of NGS experience, a Master's with 3+ years, or a PhD with 1+ years in a related scientific field is required. Strong knowledge of the NGS market and vendors, high attention to detail, self-motivation, excellent communication skills, and experimental design experience are essential. The ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Field Application Scientist will provide expert technical support for Twist's NGS targeted enrichment products, acting as a liaison between customers and the company. Responsibilities include pre- and post-sales technical support, assisting with probe design, library generation, troubleshooting, data analysis, and experimental design. The role involves collaborating with the sales team, conducting customer training, attending trade shows, identifying collaborations, and providing Voice-of-Customer feedback to internal teams. Additionally, the scientist will monitor market trends and competitive intelligence.
