  • Flexible availability for PRN (as needed) shifts, including evening hours (clinic hours M-F 8am-7pm, no weekends or holidays)

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workload
  • Ability to respond to codes and crisis situations under direction
  • Understanding of Human Resources policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform departmental clerical and receptionist functions timely and accurately (e.g., communicate messages, answer phones, greet/screen visitors, type messages, make appointments, file documents, copy documents, sort/distribute mail, maintain filing system)
  • Perform departmental billing functions timely and accurately (e.g., produce claims, prepare deposit worksheets/bank tickets/scan checks, balance accounts receivable, prepare fee bills/vendor bills, post payment denials, type/log payments in Excel, assist with monthly statements)
  • Maintain medical records functionally, in detail, and accurately (e.g., review records for filing needs, file lab/diagnostic reports)
  • Maintain appropriate supplies for the unit (e.g., enter charges for patient supplies/treatments, sign out/distribute supplies fiscally, anticipate/arrange supplies, place weekly food orders)
  • Facilitate communication and provide information to patients, families, visitors, and health care providers; report relevant information to manager/providers/department
  • Respond to requests from physicians, patients, families, visitors, and providers; take appropriate action
  • Assist with patients at arrival/departure under clinical staff direction
  • Participate in hospital committees, meetings, and team projects (e.g., attend, contribute positively, share results, take minutes)
  • Promote team environment, interact sensitively/positively with employees/physicians/public, serve as customer-service role model
  • Facilitate intra-department communication, oversee patient care/safety, help with system changes, contribute to refining systems (e.g., feedback, reports, memos)
