Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling
  • Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to write reports and compose correspondence
  • Ability to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security
  • Ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to accurately deal with mathematical problems, including geometry and financial areas
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record consistent with company underwriting guidelines
  • Ability to organize data, multi-task, and make decisions independently
  • Ability to accurately deal with sums, unit costs, and financial documents
  • Ability to drive an automobile

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims
  • Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge
  • Learn and comply with Company claim handling procedures
  • Develop entry-level claim negotiation and settlement skills
  • Serve the needs of agents, insureds, and others
  • Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third-parties
  • Develop specialized skills, including estimating and using computer-based programs
  • Study and obtain adjuster’s license(s) as required
